MAJOR GENERAL KELLY K. MCKEAGUE

 

Chief of Staff, National Guard Bureau

Major General Kelly K. McKeague is the Chief of Staff, National Guard Bureau. As the Chief of Staff, he is responsible for the daily operational direction of the Chief, National Guard Bureau as well as coordination and synchronization among the Air National Guard, Army National Guard, and National Guard Bureau Joint Staff Directorates. He also provides communication and coordination channels with State and Federal agencies on behalf of the Chief, National Guard Bureau.

General McKeague received his commission in 1981 through the Georgia Institute of Technology Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program. He began his military career as a civil engineering officer serving in a variety of assignments at base, major command, and Headquarters United States Air Force levels. In 1995, he entered the Maryland Air National Guard and served on active duty as a civil engineer with assignments at Air National Guard Readiness Center followed by legislative liaison tours at the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force and the National Guard Bureau. Prior to his current assignment, General McKeague served as the Director, Legislative Liaison, National Guard Bureau.
